I would recommend some of the other nearby escape rooms over this one, especially since it seems to double as an actual hotel.
My dad recently did work on this hotel. He stayed a couple nights out of convenience for working. He also stays with me in my home.
Terrible...disgusting...dirty...overpriced. Floor was dirty, bathroom was dirty, bed was disgusting. There was something brown splattered on the ceiling - looked like feces, please tell me it wasn't feces! The layout of this motel is a ridiculous maze, and the front desk staff is not helpful. They don't even bother to tell you where your room is at in the maze, you just have to wonder around until you find it. Advertised as having a pool, but it was covered up when I got there. No explanation as to why. The weather was still quite warm.
The whole room was dirty. The floors hadn’t been vacuumed, the mirrors were dirty, the bathroom was disgusting. My husband and I were too afraid to sleep in the bed so we slept on top of it. The TV was also broken and the WiFi barely worked. We got there at 9pm and left at 4 am so that we could get out of there faster.
The clues seemed somewhat discontinuous, and ultimately we were never able to patch them together enough to actually solve the murder, or even figure out who the victim had been.
The stale cigarette smoke smell, however, was far too realistic and overpowering to the point that it actually distracted from the game. We found it difficult to focus, and far too difficult to breathe, especially as we unscrewed the metal bed frame from the ground to check underneath for clues.
They are cheap for a reason. Do not waste your money. Booked a room here and ended up having to cancel. Had until 10.31 to cancel for free and canceled on 10.22. Hotel still charged me and when i called them they admitted it was a mistake and still refused to refund me. Staff and manager were very rude and did not want to help me at all. Would hate to see how they treat their guests. Glad i didn't end up staying here.
NOW WE HAVE BED BUGS. He and his room were the only ones affected. So we're pretty sure it came from his staying at this hotel.
Bottom line: For $44 a night, this murder mystery themed escape room was a little lackluster.
This is probably the worst motel I've ever stayed at in my life, and I've stayed at a lot of cheap hotels...
While the small blood stains everywhere and the dented crooked lamp shades looked realistic, the updated bathroom decor seemed slightly too new to really fit the immersive noir theme of the rest of the motel.
Just so you know, our exterminator bill is about $1100..
