I was encouraged to join the Emerald Club a couple of years ago, and it's really amazing. I walked from baggage claim directly to my car, which had the keys waiting in it. I actually had my choice of several cars, so I could inspect each one and choose the model, color, features, etc. that I wanted. This was without waiting in line or otherwise checking with the Nashville staff. Then as I drove out of the lot, I passed the checkpoint, handed over my driver's license and was asked to choose the gas option (return full or empty, etc.). Then off I went. Since my flight landed a bit early, I was actually on the highway before my scheduled arrival time. I love National car rental, and the Nashville airport branch.
Great experience! I didn't have to wait in line, and got to choose what car I wanted from a line of nice cars. They were friendly and easy to work with. I will definitely use again!
Many years have past since I last rented a car. I was quite surprised when the offer to join the Emerald club was given to me. The emerald club is the greatest thing I have experienced in the car rental business. National should be proud of making a program like the emerald club work.
The old lady who I had to provide my card too entered in the wrong dollar amount on my card and my transaction was denied. I called customer service and told the rep I have funds on my credit card for the amount of the rental. He advise me to go to the desk area for assistance. Sonia resolved the issue by entering in the correct dollar amount. The olde lady caused me to be a hour late getting my vacation on the road. She needs to understand that people are receiving a decline transaction by email. I love National but I hope I never see that old lady as I leave the airport. If I see her, she will be confronted to not enter the wrong amount on my transaction. The SUV was amazing.
I have not had a bad experience with National, I always get a clean well maintained rental that operates problem free. My company dropped National for a year and the others would place me in a KIA of some other rat trap billing them as standard cars. I really appreciate the pick your own model now with a available selection of Pickups and SUV's.
