This place is the bees knees. A great place to run and bike cause it's flatter than an expired coke. Nice thick vegetation and wide trails. My wife and I once biked 24 miles starting on this greenway. I convinced her we went all the way to Georgia and she bought it. So if you ever hear of the couple that biked from Shelby Bottoms to Georgia, that's us (she's very proud). Ps great nature center. Coloring books were superb.
That a reported 960 acres are preserved along a stretch of about 3 miles along the Cumberland River is not a small thing. This park is a refuge where visitors can learn about the river and wetlands, hike unpaved trails, bike or run 5 miles of paved trails, play sports, watch the sunset over the river, picnic, watch the crew of ducks on sevier lake, and gain appreciation for the natural beauty of Middle Tennessee.
We had such a lovely time! With a park so huge there is always something to do and explore. The trails are well kept and marked. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's the perfect way to take a break from city life and enjoy the wild outdoors!
I love the greenway! Good for biking, walking, birding, etc. The nature center is nice too, though I don't often take advantage of their programs.
One of the best places if you want to just get way from the crowds of Nashville and get back in touch with nature, there's no shortage of trails and sights to keep you busy for countless trips the safe and reliable grounds are why I haven't found any reason not to keep coming back even after all these years
