Fort Negley is one of the hidden gems of Nashville. It is a fascinating bit of American Civil War history and it also offers great views of the Nashville skyline. Once you arrive there is ample parking available and getting to the Fort is a short walk up a paved circle. Once in the fort there are signs and displays with the history of the structure and its role in the war. The fort is never really heavily trafficked and is a nice little escape in the city.
Fort Negley is one of our top stops when we have family or friends in town. Besides having very informative placards about the civil war and facts about the era, it has one of the best views of the city. A great place to watch the sunset. Highly recommend.
