My party and I walked up to the host to set a reservation, and the wait was 2.5 hours. We figured we'd give it a shot, and enjoyed the rest of the facility in the meantime.
We half expected the food to be underwhelming given the prices, but as each item (from starters to main courses) were delivered, we found ourselves more and more impressed. The Caesar salad was made of a hand-selected 'bouquet" of romaine lettuce, the bone marrow was exquisitely seasoned, and the steak was cooked perfectly from edge to center.
I would definitely recommend this place for a traveler passing through, or staying at the hotel!
Atmosphere was great, waitress was phenomenal, appetizers (cheese assortment and shrimp cocktail) were worth the money, tasty. Had Ribeye, NY Strip and pork chop. Pork chop was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. However, both streaks were slightly over cooked (we ordered med rare) and had zero season. As in no salt, pepper, no nothing. Incredibly bland. In fact my husband said this morning that he took his leftovers, added salt/pepper and eggs and it wasn’t too bad. I figure if I spend $400 on dinner, the description should NEVER be “its not too bad”
Great food, great service, nice upscale atmosphere.
Would advise anyone looking for a good steak NOT to go here. I ordered the filet medium. Steak itself not impressive and came out well done. If the restaurant wasn't so pricey I probably would have just eaten it, but sent it back. A half hour later after my sister had since finished her well done (she also ordered medium) dinner, I received my new steak. It was raw in the middle. Not rare, RAW. Sent it back again asking them to just nuke it so that I could have my dinner. Finally, came back with a steak cooked medium. I agree with other posts - I've had better at Outback. Also, the Caesar salad consisted of about 3 leaves of lettuce. Was very good, but think they could have parted with a few more leaves for $12.
Best pork chop I have ever had! The combination of sauce, grits, and perfectly cooked chop was amazing. I just ate at the Library Bar next to the steakhouse. It has the same menu, with the added benefit of bartenders watching you for your every need. My server, Erik had obviously been well trained and had experience in the industry. I never would have known it was his first day if he hadn't told me. He was extremely professional and knew his stuff. I will definitely be bringing my friends back here.
The atmosphere, food, and service were all impeccable! I highly recommend you try it and ask for Wayne. He was a joy to have as a server.
The wait staff was also very, very attentive, and never did we go thirsty or without a needed item during our entire visit.
