Highly recommend the Piggy Mac, beef brisket (had wonderful flavor) covered with mac and cheese! We also had the smoked meatloaf and it had great flavor, so did the green beans that came with it. For being a Friday night and very busy, we only had about a 15 minute wait (told 30 minutes) and service was good. Would go here again when in town.
We tried this place because of the reviews. Apparently people like flavorless food. The brisket was tough, fatty, and chewy with little flavor. The skillet mac n cheese was dry and gross. The squash casserole was just boiled squash in a bowl with no flavor. Basically mush. The turnip greens were okay, but needed salt. The fries were the only decent thing we ate.
Are you say enjoy going there with my daughter she loves music but the service we've gotten the last few times we went has made sure that we don't come again. I guess it's a black woman coming into a restaurant that serves majority white people think that I can come in there and spend money and tip. So with the service that I've had before they were pretty good unfortunately they're pretty busy so I understand that but the server that I had two last two times I went did not give me any type of good service so if you're black and you're trying to go there just take take out you won't get any good service. I say that because the food is really good so if you don't mind shity service then eat in otherwise I want to go there I tipped even though I didn't feel like the person who serve me deserved it
Awesome first "Puckett's" experience! Server was SO accommodating (we had no reservations & then had others join our party after drink order was placed). She relocated us quickly to a larger table. Great food, service & atmosphere!
I had the fried chicken with sweet potatoes. Meh. I like the chicken to be crispy not mushy. The potatoes didn't have much flavor. Others in the group were also so so on the taste. Staff was good and the place clean over all.
