This place is about a mile from my work, but it's my first time trying it. It was recommended to me with the description, "Their sushi is excellent!" Why not? I had the fried octopus balls (takoyaki) and the Red Dragon roll. The takoyaki came out piping hot, but a bit smaller than I expected for the price. The red dragon was awesome! There's also a list of classic Japanese items (like aji fry and okonomiyaki) located near the register that's not mentioned on the website, and it's mind-boggling because I didn't really think I would ever find a Japanese restaurant with those items here in middle TN. Food and price makes it worth it to come back again and again.
We order take out since it's down the street for us, and the waiters have always super been nice to us.
The staff are very sweet and helpful. Nice and clean place, with a quiet comfortable setting.
The sushi told we ordered we're so delisious and fresh....Tan roll, and snow crab roll.
My friend and I just ate here for the first time today, and it was amazing!!
This is the sushi restaurant that was on 21st ave. Let me tell you it's the best sushi you'll ever have and the prices are amazing. I adore the staff here. They always remember little things I like and don't like. They even have run my order out to my car when my girls fall asleep! I absolutely love this place.
There's not much I can say about Ken's that hasn't already been said. Though atmosphere is not the most classy, and the chef is not interested in accommodating picky eaters it is undoubtedly the best sushi for flavor and texture in town. I mean if you're wanting amazing sushi don't come to Nashville, but if you're sick of BBQ and fried chicken this is the best option in this landlocked town in my opinion.
Delicious, authentic cuisine with a nice quiet atmosphere. Owned and operated by a Japanese native as well. I'd been looking high and low for a place that wasn't saturated with garbage fusion dishes and gross tasting California rolls in the Murfreesboro/Nashville area for the better part of a year now, and Ken's is about as legit as you can get. Definitely the best Japanese that I've found since moving to TN.
Edit: I happened to come here on a Saturday afternoon after this review. This place seems to be very popular with the Japanese community since I see at least 3 families come in here within a half hour span. If this doesn't convince this place is authentic, then I don't know what else will. Come for the sushi, stay for the other Japanese goodies.
