We went in December and I wish we visited in the spring as there is quite a nice garden there that would have been great in full bloom.

Great place to see America's history

THIS is a great way to spend your time in the Nashville area. The museum gives you a great introduction to the life of Jackson as well as the ability to get very up close with items from his life. Old and young will both find something of interest.

The docents are super cool and know a lot of information

My wife and I just visited Andrew Jackson's Hermitage today, 12-18-17. Both of us love history, and the Hermitage does an excellent job of detailing the life of former president Andrew Jackson (he is on our $20 bills). We took the "Presidential Tour" which was excellent. You receive earphones and an easy to use device that lets you listen to all sorts of history at various points around the huge estate. The museum was great, the movie professional and the tour of the huge mansion was fabulous! Don't miss the Hermitage!

Had a lot of fun

I wish the Church had been unlocked and that there was a readily-available guide to the off-site graveyard. Otherwise the experience was fantastic. Definitely all the history of a place like Monticello or Mount Vernon without the crazy crowds.

Be sure to see Andrew Jackson's tomb and the horses and livestock throughout the grounds.

I learned a lot about the history of Andrew Jackson.

See the bed or chair that Andrew Jackson used .

Audio tour guide was super fun.

The museum has a ton items that are tied to Andrew Jackson or his family.

Be sure to check out gift shop to remember your trip. There is also a cutie little cafe to have lunch or afternoon tea.

Excellent museum and well preserved grounds. Easy access from highway and parking. Highly recommend checking out Ole Hickory's Hermitage. Introductory video is very informative. Gift shop is also full of cool stuff. Things to keep in mind, entrance fee is slightly over priced. Admission process resembles the DMV in regard to speed. Tons of old folk, so you may have to pick your spots to move more quickly, but that's doable throughout except admission. Check it out!

Very clean, very polite people, worth the money. It was a very informative tour that laid out General Jackson’s best and worst hits. This man accomplished quite a bit during his life and it was a very enlightening experience.

Touring the house feels a little rushed, I would have preferred more time to wander and perhaps a bit more information from the historical guides. Best to arrive early so you aren't stuck waiting in line too long - that Southern sun and humidity can get to be a bit much (and it seems a lot of reviewers on here from more temperate places are a bit sensitive to it).
