Most places in Nashville that have had excellent reviews in my opinions have been a big disappointment and I find it perplexing that the reviews great. This holds true for Loveless cafe too. Everything was super greasy and there aren't very many options for vegetarians. I understand that this isn't a place you go to to eat healthy food, or if you are a vegetarian. But in my opinion, the comfort food here, including the vegetarian sides, is too greasy, so much so that the cucumber slices were the best thing on the table. And perhaps the only thing that stopped me from throwing up food from all the grease. I love fried food. But this felt like you were swallowing few teaspoonfull of oil with every bite. Fried food doesn't have to be like that. That being said, I think the place is charming and the service was good.

Very fun place to get breakfast. The atmosphere is really cool. Overall the food is solid. It's not the best breakfast food I've had, but it's good. I would say it's not worth the hype, so don't spend an hour in line, but if you can get there early you'll have a great time.

So we ordered individual platters instead. It's definitely worth eating here, but skip the family style.

We had a wonderful experience at Loveless Cafe today. We had a large-ish group the day after Thanksgiving, and were in the mood for some southern cooking. Loveless did not disappoint. The server was super efficient, quick, and friendly. The biscuits are amazing, and only made better by the wonderful preserves served with them. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals.

My husband and I stopped here after finishing the Natchez Trace around 4:30. Perfect time to stop as we had to wait only 20 min before being seated. The biscuits were very good as everyone says. Of course we had to have the fried chicken after hearing so much about it. We both got the 1/4 fried white meat. I got the green beans and Mac and cheese after finding out the vegetable of the day was already sold out. My husband had mashed potatoes and gravy and the white beans. I thought my chicken was a little dry. The beans were salty and I wasn't fond of the Mac and cheese which seemed like boiled noodles with cheese sauce. My husband enjoyed his mashed potatoes but was a little surprised at the sauce on the white beans. I guess we were expecting a lot better meal because we had always heard what a fantastic place this was. It was ok. I'm just glad we didn't have to wait as long as I understand most people have to.

Great atmosphere, service and food. I had the biscuit sampler. The pimiento cheese and fried green tomato is a must try! Their preserves are amazing! Will definitely return.

My only complaint is the "family style" choices are extremely limited. We wanted to do the family style, but even with a group our size, and we only get 2 meat choices? And the list of meats to choose from was also pretty limited. We've been to other family-style restaurants that have a lot better setup.
