While the food at this cafe is pretty good, not overly priced, but they do take awhile to get the food out. We had egg sandwiches on bagels and they were simple but good. The coffee and pasties are great too. But Beware: if you are going to park here. There are limited parking spots with "cafe coco" on them which are free. A group of friends and I thought we could get some breakfast sandwiches to go and made the mistake of not paying the parking meter for a parking spot not labeled cafe coco. They booted both of our cars in 10 minutes and it was not so fun. There are signs on the door warning you to pay the meter for parking and realize that they are very serious. (It would have been nice for the staff to say something like hey they will definitely boot your car, but they did not).
It's alright. I'll say it used to be better and friendlier four years ago. It's still fine, if always a hair expensive for what it is. But, that's the crowd, ya know? What has definitely changed is the parking situation, which is laughable by any measure. There's that Illusion of Scarcity again... The one that makes people throw They Kids college money around. I enjoy the slow pace of this joint, but I won't be falling over myself to drop in anytime soon. Perhaps Nashville has jumped that shark.
I love the cool, laid-back atmosphere of this gem! The good was delicious: flavorful without being over-seasoned and big enough portions for me to be full. The cashier and waitstaff were friendly and polite and had great recommendations for their cream drinks (I highly recommend ALL of them!) Overall an awesome dining experience.
Very excited to see this spot open 24 hrs. Food is good with a good variety and also has a healthy side with its daily pressed juices. Must try! This place is for all types of crowds.
OH they stay open pretty late too!
Retro, yet real chic. Reminded me of the coffee houses I went to and hang out in the late 70's early 80's. Appealing primarily to the college crowd can see myself visiting more often when I'm in the area. Coffee was excellent and it was definitely a judgement free zone. Pop in have a Batista grind you some fresh beans, brew up a special and sit and people watch. ( Be sure to tip, as I'm told it's sexy there!)
