Humble little market in appearance, but the owner was amazingly sweet and personable even though it was my first time, with a smile that will make your whole day better. I bought a simple $4 turkey sandwich - a wonderful price. Which she toasted the bread fresh there and used some sort of slightly spicy mayo and mustard combo that gave it just the right touch. With lots of meat for a small sandwich. Great buy, but it really seemed like my little sandwich was just *bursting* with love and was a delight to eat. (Sappy as it sounds, it's true.) So I definitely recommend this little hidden gem of a place for a lunchtime bite!

The lady cooking was very nice and friendly.

This place has changed since these other reviews were posted. The clerk with gold teeth was standing out front and opened the door behind us and asked "y'all want cigarettes? They nine dollas a pack you willin to pay that?" Of course we told him hell no and he explained he sets prices for the hotel patrons in the area. He went on to explain they are that price up north and we told him this is the south. By the looks of things I would say these photos are of some place else's foodthis just looks like a rinky dink aweful little cafe with dirty deep fryers. Cursed us out on the way out the door.

My wife and I had a couple of great omelets here. The omelets came with toast and hash browns, complete with butter for our toast.

I hope this is the right place. It says "Cafe & Market" above the door and is across the street from the intersection with the TN Tower to one side and the War Memorial Bldg and Plaza to the other.

The owner was so outgoing and friendly. We honestly thought the food was only going to be par at best but the omelette was over the top excellent! It was that awesome. Seems like she has a lot of regulars as some call her by name and some order with "I'll have my usual." If you are in DT Nashville and need a quick and good bite to come on in.

$25 for both of us, 2 omelets, 2 hash browns. 2 toasts, not a bad price. It seems the open hours vary. Went down this morning for more omelets at 730 am and it was not open yet.

All of the cooked food prices seemed very reasonable. The packaged foods (chips etc) were on a par with gas station mark-ups.
