I just spoke to the nicest lady on the phone that helped me with a problem I was having. She was super friendly, and I appreciated it.
I was involved in a car accident on Harding Place in front of Sam's Club. Both me and the driver of the car that hit me pulled over in the parking lot of Sam's and I called the police at exactly 7:01 pm in the middle of the week. After waiting for over an hour, I called again and was told by a dispatcher that due to all the shootings and domestic disputes going on in the area they had to "prioritize" where officers would be sent and I just had to wait. While we sat there less than a block away from a police precinct, we watched at least 10 police cars pass within the over 4 and 1/2 hours we sat there and waited and even made attempts to flag some of the officers down. I called the police non-emergency number every 45 minutes and was told each time that we were not a priority because of all the alleged shootings and domestic violence cases going on at that very moment that the 10 officers that passed us by didn't seem to be in a big hurry to get to. An officer FINALLY showed up at 11:45 pm. 4 hours and 45 minutes is an ABSURD amount of time to wait for a police officer to show up for a traffic accident ESPECIALLY when the accident occurred within walking distance of a police precinct!
You get your house broken into and the cops take 5 hours to show up. A crazy woman working at the gas station gets yelled at for acting stupid and the cops show up 5 deep in 2 mins. Welcome to Antioch.
Last night there was a hit and run on our street called 911 reported it. After 2 hours went to bed cause NO one showed up.
They were very professional and handled my situation great, and in a reasonable time!!
