Neither Underrated or Overrated
The teachers are not smug or arrogant. There are some bad professors and there are some great ones. If you're not attending for music or nursing, then it's probably not worth the price. Even if you are a music or nursing student, you might be able to get a better value for your education elsewhere. It has a decent location, on-campus housing is decent and improving, and the landscaping is top-notch, but you are paying for all of those things. Tuition continues to rise and gardens are planted, uprooted, and replanted about ever semester.
Yes, you may come across a few bad professors, but you will also meet a faculty who cares about you. It is a smaller school, so it's easier to be more personable with professors and staff. If you have scholarships, financial aid, and a desire to be in Nashville, then I'd recommend Belmont. For myself, after being there for four years (and soon to be five), I wish that would have gone to UTChatt instead.
It's midnight and your students have been in the dorm parking lot making an incredible amount of noise for over an hour now. There is no way to contact either you or your security to ask them to be quiet. They regularly walk down our street late at night being loud and obnoxious as well.
I am very fortunate to count myself among those who studied and graduated from one of the finest and most respected undergraduate programs in the United States.
Belmont University is the WORST neighbor EVER!!!!!!!
Not worth cost of tuition, teachers are decent, but they better not be gay or non-christian, or else you'll be kicked to the Curb Cafe! School is a prime example of how Christianity can destroy an establishment... I mean the Southern Baptist Convention is even suing the school for breaking away from Christian roots! It's pathetic!
My daughter is in her 2nd year at Belmont. She is active in many school and sorority activities. Belmont is a great match for her. We visited probably 10 schools across the country. She found Belmont to be the the right place for her. Take time to check out the school before you attend. Look at the online information about the school and the community. We were impressed after looking at many schools and are still impressed after 3 semesters.
