Tons of History here. This place is Simply Amazing! The tour staff is so very knowledgeable and everyone is super friendly. This place is excellent for tour groups, and very educational for bringing kids on field trips. The history here is amazing and the scenery is gorgeous. The home is spectacular and the grounds are always very neat and clean. There are picnic areas outside 2 have a snack or picnic lunch and also areas for you to do your own self guided tour

This was the first non agrarian plantation we visited. It was the premier race horse breeding farm accounting for all major race winning bloodlines in the US. The house tour was one hour and ended up at their winery for a tasting session. Has a well used on premise catering and event management business that uses a converted stable with semi private dining in the former stalls. The on site restaurant was table served and was very good. Had a great vist.

I didn't know what to expect, it's an old mansion that can be toured. Tour was conducted in small groups, guides are dressed in period clothing, and they explain and answer questions. Two floors are open to the public, all the rooms are viewable. Very elegant old home. The carriage house has carriages to see, there's a winery, two gift shops and you can just stroll the grounds if you like. The downside is photography is forbidden. There's also a nice restaurant there.

The narrative from our host was exceptional! Informative and very knowledgeable. This plantation is rich with history and the impact it had on throurobred race horses.

Best tour ever! Justin our tour guide was awesome and he isn’t even the normal guide. One of the best tours of a plantation we’ve been on. Lots of history here and Justin was very knowledgeable, funny & courteous! Our only complaint is that the signage for the RV entrance was not good. The sign to turn in to the plantation is on the right side of the street, which was great. We made the turn across traffic into the driveway only to see there was a small sign that said to drive to another street to enter if you were in an RV or bus. I then had to get our rig (31 ‘plus the attached 10’ truck) turned around to go back out thereby ruining their lawn (mashed down grass & muddy now). When we go to the ticket office I spoke to Penny who was extremely apologetic. She told us not to worry about the lawn and she would let the appropriate people know about the signage. FYI the place to put rv’s is not very big so I wouldn’t go if you have a rig bigger than about 35’.
