I could not disagree more with Lucy KitKat. I had all of my wedding pampering done at Kiva and had a wonderful experience and my bridesmaids would agree. Lauren did my hair and it was exactly like I wanted because she listened to what I wanted. It looked great all day and night (about 10 hours!). Also, I was very pleased with my makeup that Donna and Nicole did. They were very professional and used wonderful products that made me look great on my wedding day. I would recommend that anyone use Kiva for their wedding or other special occasion. Lauren, Daleigh, Donna, and Nicole did a wonderful job and their experience really showed.
Bobby is amazing & Iva works wonders! Love Kiva.
ps...I have been considering extensions and while I was in the other day, I saw a hairdresser named Abby just finishing a client...very impressive! Perhaps that's next on my list. In addition, I bought some great things in there last week in their boutique...going clubbing downtown with friends tonight and I'm wearing my new tunic top, earrings and sporty little hat…fun stuff. I love this place. 5*****
I am new to Nashville, and I recently tried Kiva Salon 2 seperate times. The first time I went to Kiva, I asked for highlights and I asked for my roots to be lifted. I stated I did not want my base broken. However, the sylist broke my base anyway. My hair was an orange color and looked horrible. The 2nd time I tried to get my hair colored there I tried a new person. This time I asked for highlights and low lights and told them I wanted the orange color out of my hair. The sylist was unable to do this and I left the salon with peices of orange still in my hair and my roots looking like I needed my hair colored. I have had horrible experiences at this salon and will not go back!
Kiva is Fantastic!!! I've lived in Nashville a few years now and have tried many salons...too many to list them all here. I read reviews and go online to do research. I have tried the most trendy Gulch hot spots and the highlights of Green Hills and Brentwood. All the efforts left me lacking in the quality I was accustomed to in California. Then one day while in Whole Foods, I saw a woman with the very hair style/cut/color that I thought I was going to have to fly back across the country to get. She told me that she had been going to Kiva for years. Well, I called that day and got an appointment with Jana. Once there, I discovered that it was also a spa. The spa manager, Lisa, was so helpful...it was like I had made a new friend. She set me up a massage appointment with Todd and a facial with Wendy. Everyone there is so friendly, I can honestly say that I have found a new home. My hair looks fantastic...compliments abound, even my husband who rarely comments on my hair said "You look great, whatever you did to your hair I love the way the highlights catch the sunlight." I also want to add that my massage with Todd was heavenly...goodbye stress and tight shoulders! And I received a super facial from Wendy. I have been going there for a couple of months now and honestly can not think of anything that has displeased me. It's all been so positive!
I am shocked at these bad reviews. I have been having my hair colored (all over color, highlighted/lowlighted) cut and chemically straightened (twice) at Kiva for over a year. I have always been 100% happy with my results. So have all of my friends. I go once a week (sometimes twice if I need a blow out for an event) and I have NEVER seen anyone leave unhappy. Everyone that works there is very kind and always has a smile on their face.
