I decided to leave. Bummer.
The point is- if several people are complaining about customer service why not work to improve it? Rather than placing the blame on the customer? Or avoiding any responsibility?
I am in complete shock at the google responses from the owner. Who responds to their customers like that? I don't understand. If a customer expresses their concerns and opinions should the owner not respond more appropriately? So disheartening. This establishment could excel by just showing more sympathy.
This is HANDS DOWN the best place in Nashville. The staff is very friendly and if there's a problem, they definitely go above and beyond to fix it (without the attitude). I just adore Scott and his wife for all of their hard work. There are a few new faces that may need a tad bit more guidance but I am sure under this great management...they will do wonders. Athenian deserves 10 stars!!!

While waiting for him to return another lady, who was ready to check out stood in line behind me. When the owner returned, he ignored me again and proceeded to check the lady out.
Please note: I do not mind paying to have a fix, but do not have time to return to the nail salon for constant fixes. They wouldn't help me find a solution and just wanted me to pay $40 for a new manicure.
Update: after being yelled at this morning by the owner for almost 15 minutes, I have escalated my complaint to the Better Business Bureau. I suggest that others do the same until this shop stops treating customers this way.
Simple mistake, I thought.
Great atmosphere and nail techs are typically friendly. But, I had to return 3 times for a fix within 2 weeks. Gel simply peeled off. Never had this happen at other salons in the 3+years of gel manicures. Manager didn't really seem to care, didn't want to find a solution, and has lost my business.
It takes a lot of effort to look over someone and help another person. A simple "do you mind if I check her out?" Would have sufficed.
So unfortunately I won't be returning after my visit today. I walked in to get a pedicure. While I was waiting in line to see if there was any availability, another lady walked in after me. The owner proceeded to ignore me and helped the lady who had walked in after me.
He then offered me the menu to look at the different types of pedicures and asked me to wait while he set up the lady that had an appointment. No worries. I understand priorities since I was a walk in.
Manager and front desk clerk are in desperate need of customer service training.
I hate to pull the race card, but both ladies were not my complexion.
I’ve been going to Athenian since they opened. I have always recieved great service. The nail technicians I’ve had were all professional, attentive, and friendly. The management team was quick to respond to one negative experience I had prior. Very chill and relaxing atmosphere.. what more could you ask for? :)
I've visited this establishment three times. I love the atmosphere. However, I agree that the last time I was there the customer service wasn't great. BUT the nail tech did a great job on my nails.
I saw Kim today for a long overdue pedicure. She was very gentle but thorough. I chose Athenian due to their sterilization procedures. As a bit of a germiphobe, it helps me relax knowing they take sterilization seriously and do not re use products. The cocktail included with my service was an excellent bonus. I will definitely return.
