Seriously the best book store I've ever been to. Such a little hole in the wall place, with books stacked up to the ceiling and there are so many that it makes it kind of hard to walk through without bumping into something/someone! But it is truly a sight to see, a must if you're a bibliophile like me.
Three young professors were so excited to find a used bookstore just down from a great lunch location. However the man at the desk was truly atrocious. Apparently even though we bought almost $40 dollars in books, we looked like thieves. As we were checking out, he treated us as if we were trying to steal books. He never apologized. In fact he said, what are you complaining about? Well sir. The fact that you are a sad, pathetic pessimistic jerk who is obviously a miserable excuse for a human being.
If you are a snowflake do not go here but if you love books then welcome
The hours posted virtually everywhere online are incorrect. They are only open 11-4, Monday to Friday. My husband and I attempted to visit on a Saturday, paid to park across the street (could not get refunded) and then find that the shop is closed.
This place isn't so much a store as an experience - one that everyone deserves to have at least once. It's hard to find; got a nondescript name and no entrance from the street (as far as I remember), and even if you can find it they keep odd hours. No website to help you out either. Once you DO get in, though, it's absolutely magical. It's not very large square-footage-wise, only really one room, but that room has an absolute maze of aisles, with towering shelves overflowing towards the ceiling (and it's a tall ceiling!). Not a place to go if you're looking for anything in particular, but you're sure to find some bizarre tome from the mid-eighties that nobody knows exists. My only real complaint is that there's not many places to sit, so make sure you're okay with kneeling on the floor.
