We like coming here. The mall has quite a few stores that we shop at and the mall is well taken care of.
The only downside is that it's a one level mall so it takes a long time to walk from one end to the other. It also has a section where you have to walk in a circle to get to the other shops with no way to cut through and this walk can take a while as well.
Shopping and restaurants are amazing and worth the drive. They have everything! Under Armour, Oakley, Bass Pro Shop, Rain Forrest Cafe, Kate Spade, GAP, Dave and Busters...literally everything at great outlet prices. I gave them 4 stars because the bathrooms are typically gross and a lot of the bathroom stall doors are broken and don't lock. However, they have great family bathrooms.
Great mall from high end to some outlets. You can find whatever you need. Typical food court options, but there are some good sit down restaurants. Plus some that are fun for children. Rainforest cafe, and the aquarium restaurant. And there's the always great claim jumper.
Malls are a bit of a failing thing, unfortunately. They just can't compete with Amazon on price. They're often crowded and full or people who aren't paying attention. Retail cashiers are generally as dumb as rocks. And it's usually a lot more of a drag than it's worth.
Opry Mills Mall is the exception. Seeing numerous malls in Nashville fail (Bellevue, Hickory Hollow, Harding), this is the one mall, I think that everyone wants to succeed, and it's making it, seeing how crowded it is almost all the time, and how brutally crowded it is in the Christmas Shopping Season.
Thank goodness for valet parking service!! I heard malls were dieing out. Not Opry Mills. Bumper to bumper just to get in and then every parking spot was full. Even the ones not near an entrance. Though the stores were packed with post holiday shoppers looking for a bargain both shoppers and workers seemed to be in a good mood. Very nice shopping experience. The variety of shops was excellent.
This is not the go to Mall for upscale: you can hit Cool Springs and especially Green Hills malls for that kind of thing, but Opry Mills is big, and it feels like the mall for everyman. It's not just shop after shop of women's fashion. It's clean and comfortable. Everything works.
That being said, there are cool shops, a nice big food court, a few other restaurants, lots of open spaces, and if you pick your spots, there are even a few deals to be had. Dave and Busters is fun; the Bass Pro Shop is cool to walk around; and even smaller places like Fossil and the Aquarium are cool to peek into.
