3) Pricing for me has never been a problem. I have been to the grocery stores and bought a bottle that I knew my friends liked and I paid close to the same as at Luther's. In my estimation I'll pay the extra $1 or $2 for the bottle of wine to be confident that what I am getting is going to be a hit - the grocery stores can't top the knowledgeable staff or the selection.
I'm not even close to a wine person. I personally don't drink wine. When hosting a gathering I always go to Luther's for three reasons:
The place to go in Brentwood. Knowledgeable staff that will help you find what you need. Plus they are open till 11!
Good service and liquor selection. Their beer selection is much improved. The wine selection is basic. If you want something special you'll have to go elsewhere
2) The selection is great - bad for me because I stand there going well which one do I get? The staff comes to the rescue; they don't point me to the most expensive bottle, which they could easily do since I know nothing about wine. They tend to always be in stock on whatever people are looking for, which is kudos to the staff on ensuring they have the handle on the hot "brands" or regions I guess (I don't really know how to say that)
Very nice store. Helpful people who always greet you with a smile.
These guys have a killer craft selection. You can find some hard to find, seasonal, and one off stuff that you'd have to wait in line for at release to get at other places. Plus they have Bold Rock IPA cider which my wife loves. Great place!
1) Knowledgeable staff - every time I have gone there and I have been buying for different people with varying tastes (some like red and others a moscato, etc.) The staff explains the differences in the wine selection for the particular type (red versus white) and tells me about the regions and differences in grapes to educate me on the different flavors and "experience" when drinking the wine. They have taught me how to store the wine and make even the last glass as good as the first.
