York and Friends include approximately 50 different artists with a wide selection of styles. You can find one-of-a-kind necklaces and earrings and pottery, in addition to those wonderful paintings. If you cannot find the art that you are looking for at York and Friends, then it probably does not exist. This is a great place. Check it out!!!
First of all, a gallery is only as good as its curator. Ron York is always there with a smile on his face ready to help you with any questions but never pushing you into a sale. His gallery always contains top quality art at realistic prices in a range that anyone can afford. After years of shopping at York & Friends, my home is a mini-gallery with mostly art associated with this gallery. And what makes me happiest is that I personally now know each of these artists. Every piece has a story that I will always treasure!
On a rainy day I CRAVE art. Ron York's York & Friends Fine Art gallery is where I go to get my art sunshine infusion. There's something new every time I visit, with an enormous variety of styles -- all from local talent. It's my favorite Middle Tennessee art respite -- not only because of the enormous selection -- but because many of the pieces are affordable enough for normal working-stiffs like myself. My husband calls it the "dangerous place" because I often come home with a new piece of art from my visits! Did I mention the incredible art jewelry? Do yourself a favor. Go visit York & Friends Fine Art. You won't regret it.
If you are looking for a wide variety of paintings from local artists, then you need to visit York and Friends. I have purchased several tile paintings from Polly Cook as well as an awesome vase from her. I have purchased seven of Ron York's paintings in various sizes as well as numerous items from other artists.
York & Friends Fine Art has the best collection of art in the Nashville area. There is a great variety of local artists, though our favorites are the whimsical pieces of Ron York, Emily Little & Bradley Wilson. We also enjoy the life-like representations of Beth Affolter. Before finding York & Friends, the art in our house was limited to mass-produced pieces. We now enjoy over a dozen, one-of-a-kind, pieces of hand crafted artwork in our home, including commissioned paintings through York & Friends. But, what my wife and I appreciate the most about York & Friends, is Ron. He's a person who genuinely loves art and loves people. When I walk into his gallery it feels like I'm visiting a friend who really enjoys what he does. Because of that, my wife and I give Ron and York & Friends Fine art the highest rating.
With stunning art wrapping its walls, a visit to York & Friends Fine Art is like an inspiring day at a museum and then you realize – hey, I can afford to take home several of these gorgeous pieces! Over two decades ago, Ron York introduced me to the concept of buying and collecting work from local artists. I feel in love with the experience of knowing the artist and their story while finding the perfect piece to reflect the moment in our family’s life. Ron makes the experience of buying art a friendly, unpretentious and approachable experience. In addition to the visual works of art, I’m now addicted to collecting original jewelry and pottery. York & Friends Fine Art also does so much for Nashville area nonprofits, I’ve had plenty of opportunities to buy art for a great cause.
